On an earlier post i spoke about a good concealer that i have been using lately and i absolutely loved because it looks very natural which is the Smashbox High Definition Liquid Concealer, i also mentioned that i use one from MAC and Bobbi Brown. Honestly i felt kind of guilt after writing that post because i didn’t do MAC’s Studio Finish Concealer any justice, i sounded more like i hated it than like it. So this post is dedicated to MAC’s Studio Finish Concealer which by the way i absolutely love and now i will tell you why i do so.

First of all you should know that MAC makes the best eye concealers, forget about the Bobbi Brown ones, personally, right now i don’t like it that much even though i used one until i hit the pan and i used to love it so much, but when i used MAC i knew the difference between them and i started to dislike Bobbi Brown, but this doesn’t mean that BB is a bad one, i still keep one in my concealer’s stash and i use it from time to time.

MAC describes the Studio Finish Concealer as:

A lightweight, creamy, discreetly opaque concealer. Provides a smooth, long-wearing invisible coverage for all skin blemishes. Water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic. This emollient-based, lightweight concealer is so concentrated that a tiny amount can provide opaque coverage of the skin’s imperfections and discoloration. It effectively covers dark circles, blemishes, moles, tattoos and birthmarks. Enriched with antioxidants (derivatives of Vitamin A and Vitamin E), it also contains Silica to help adsorb the skin’s oils. Concealer has an SPF of 35 and is available in a wide range of colours. It can be applied with a medium to firm fiber brush (try the 242 Brush), a latex sponge, or the fingertips.

Ok now let me say that this is the best concealer i am using right now, i have serious under eye dark circles from the lack of sleep, even the Bobbi Brown that i used to use before and liked so much doesn’t cover the dark circles the way i want it to be, until i tried the Studio Fix, it gives a really heavy coverage and it works really good for serious dark areas, i love its coverage.

The formula is very heavy, kind of muddy, i prefer applying it using a MAC 224 brush, this is my most favored brush in applying creamy concealers, its really good.

For an extra coverage, and to hide the dark areas more i use the MAC Corrector in Pure Orange, i apply a small amount under my eyes, specifically on the very dark spots, i use a flat synthetic fiber brush like Sigma F70 to apply the product, and on top of it i apply the MAC Studio Finish Concealer, by using the corrector it hides the dark areas and gives better results.

Now, the problem about this concealer and many i used before that the product settle into fine lines, even when i powder the under eye area the product still settle in the lines. I keep on wiping the area with my finger or a brush all day and it really annoys me because i keep paying attention to my eyes every now and then, and it isn’t comfortable.
The Benefit Powderflage, which is “a light diffusing powder concealer for under eyes and face” is the only powder that doesn’t let the concealer settle into fine lines, i had this products for years and didn’t know what to use it for until i knew its magic. Unfortunately Benefit no longer stock it and i am afraid to ran out if it, i don’t know how i will manager without it, hopefully a new similar product will surface!
