After all the hype i heard about Dior Star foundation i caved in and bought it, i wanted to see how good this foundation is and is it really worth it? I dont usually jump on getting something once i hear about it, not for a foundation, but at that time i wanted a new one and Star just came in the way.
First of all, Star is described as “its first brightening foundation, a weightless fluid capable of recreating the spectacular and perfecting light of Dior’s Studios.” With an SPF30 – PA++
This is new!! I usually read about a foundation that reflects a natural light but not a certain brand’s studio light!! Dont you think this is a bit weird? I am not sure how Dior Studio Light is but i want to believe that it is a an excellent one!
Now when i came to choosing the right shade the testers were a bit weird in store, all the shades were too pink for my skintone, and if i just went on testing and swatching them i wouldnt get the right shade, but i bought shade 030 based on my Dior Nude foundation which is perfect on me, surprisingly (not!) when i went home and look at the bottle the shade definitely looked way different than what i saw in store, the shade was obviously yellow based and once i tried it on my face it matched well, i dont know if those testers in store were different or maybe too much air got into them and changed its formula but i am glad i didnt trust what i saw and just got my usual Dior shade. So if you feel that you didnt get your right shade in store better get samples for 2 or 3 shades closer to your skin to test it at home if you are not one of those risky girls who are willing to just buy and try every time (like me 🙂 )
This is my description of the foundation:
(Shade 030 is Medium Beige, it is shade between MAC NC25 and NC30.)
– Lightweight and easy to blend.
– Not too runny and not too creamy thick.
– Coverage from light to medium (can be buildable).
– Doesnt cover blemishes and pigmentation, you will need to apply concealer on top to cover it.
– It is not dewy and not matte, there is a sheen to it but sometimes it looks semi matte once first applied.
– Gives a natural glow, like the skin is radiating with light.
– It has a slight perfume scent (correct me if i am wrong).
I have used the foundation using a foundation brush and a damp beauty blender, i found it works better with the brush mainly because the foundation has a light to medium coverage and using a damp beauty blender will take away a bit from the coverage so i always need an extra pump or two to get a satisfactory coverage.
The first time i used the foundation i tried it without a primer and a fixing spray, since my skin is oily/combination it didnt hold up very well, the foundation was literally melting, this usually happens with most foundations in my skin but i thought i would try and see.
But of course with primer and setting spray the foundation help up pretty well on my skin, i cannot say it is a longwear foundation as they wrote on the bottle because it is not for me, it could be my skintype that doesnt make it as long wearing as it is supposed to be, so i would be give it about 5-6 hours looking good on my skin then it changes and needs touching up, i know alot of girls would consider 5 hours a long since some dont wear makeup that long but to me a longwear foundation should hold up to at least 8 hours.
I also noticed that the foundation settles in expression lines especially if i applied it with a brush more than a beauty blender, somehow beauty blender sucks up all the extra (uneeded) foundation from my face and makes it look better.
Now my final thought and question, do i like or dislike Dior Star foundation?
I like it if i am staying home or going to an indoor event, party, gathering for few hours, it doesnt hold up well outdoors (in the hot,humid weather) and wont hold for long hours. But lately it started irritating my skin since i got eczema and making it worse and i believe it is because the foundation is scented.

بعد الضجة الي سمعتها عن كريم اساس ستار من ديور قلت لازم اجربه واشوف على شو هاذي الضجة يسو أو لا، بالعادة أنا مامشي ورا كلام البنات في النت اذا مدحوا شي جديد خاصة إذا بعده مانزل في السوق عندنا وبخاصة لما يكون عن فونديشن ، أحب أشتري الي يعجبني ويناسبني وأكون رايي بنفسي عن المنتج بس هل فونديشن بصراحة صرعني قلت لازم آخذه
موقع ديور كاتبين وصف غريب للمنتج أول مرة أسمع فيه وهو انه أول كريم أساس لهم خفيف على البشرة ينور الوجه عن طريق تقليد اضاءة استوديو ديور! بالله عليكم في حياتكم سمعتوا عن هل شي؟ أنا اسمع فونديشن يقلد اضاءة خارجية طبيعية شي من هل كلام بس مب اضاءة استوديو!
لما سرت المحل اجرب الفونديشن طبعا انا ماجربه في المحل على ويهي بس اجربه على ايدي واحكم عليه، خلاص انا تعودت الحين وصرت اعرف اي درجة بتناسبني حتى لو لون ايدي مختلف عن ويهي، بس الدرجات الي شفتها في المحل ابدا ماناسبتني كانوا كلهم مايلين على وردي وانا بشري مايلة على أصفر، بس بالنهاية شفت ترقيمهم نفي ترقيم فونديشن نود من ديور وانا عندي منه والدرجة مناسبتني فقلت يلا باخذ نفس الدرجة وبجربها في البيت، خذت درجة ٠٣٠ ولما رجعت البيت وفتحت العلبة شفت انه اللون نختلف تماما عن الي شفته في المحل، في المحل كان مايل على وردي بس الي عندس كان مايل على أصفر ولما استخدمته الحمدلله طلع ضابط على لون بشرتي. قلت السبب يمكن التسترات الي في المحل تغير لونهم وتآكسدوا بعد ماتعرضوا للهوا لفترة طويلة بعد الفتح، بصراحة مادري شو قصتهم.
نصيحة الي ماتشتري مكياج وايد وماتبي تخاطر و مترددة في الألوان ماتعرف شو تشتري لا تخضعين لموظفات المحل ترا بيضغطون عليج تاخذين اي شي بس أصري على رايج وطلبي سامبل لدرجتين او ثلاث الي تحسينهم اقرب لج وجريي في البيت واحكمي وادري انه معظم الأوقات يقولون انه ماعندهم ومخلص طلعي من المحل احس وروحي محل ثاني خذ منهم. أدري انه مب كل البنات يجازفون مثلي أو الي ماعندها خبرة في المكياج أو شافت انه اختيار ادرجة صعب ترا مب صعب انه تاخدذين عينة (سامبل) وتجربينها ولاتستحون من الموظفات ترا هاذي شغلتهم انه يبيعون ويبون يزيدون نسبة مبيعاتهم فلا تكونون ضحية لهم.
الحين بنقاط مختصرة بقول لكم رايي بشكل عام عن المنتج:
( انا أخذت درجة ٠٣٠ وهي درجة بين ماك ان سي ٢٥ و ان سي ٣٠)
ـ الفونديشن خفيف ويندمج بسهولة.
– تركيبته لا هي سائل مثل الماي ولا كريمي ثقيل هو بالنص.
– تغطيته خفيفة الى وسط (اذا حطيتي اكثر عن طبقة)
ـ مايغطي الندوب والاثار والحبوب الغامقة، لازم تستخدمين كونسيلر لتغطيتهم.
ـ يعطي لمعة خفيفة بس هو مب ديوي (رطب) ولا مطفي (مات)، اول ماحطه يكون قريب للمطفي بس فيه لمعة خفيفة. وأقصد بالمعة الاضاءة مب جليتر.
ـ يعطي اضاءة طبيعية للبشرة مثل البشرة منورة من داخل.
– احس فيه ريحة عطرية خفيفة.
جربت وحطيت الفونديشن باستخدام فرشا وباستخدام البيوتي بلندر، شفت انه الفونديشن يطلع احلى بالفرشا لانه البيوتي بلند وهي مبلولة تسحب شوي من الفونديشن وبما انه تغطيته خفيفه فاحتاج اني احط زيادة عشان ازيد التغطية بس بالفرشا التغطية من اول شي تكون جيدة.
أول مرة استخدمت الفونديشن ماحطيت لا برايمر ولا سبراي مثبت ولانه بشرني دهنية/مختلطة ساح علي بسرعة، وبالعادية هل شي يصير مع معظم الفونديشنات الي استخدمتهم، لنوع بشرتي لازم برايمر ومثبت علشان يثبت عدل.
طبعا بعدين استخدمتهم وثبت الفونديشن بس مدة ثباته ما أبهرتني لانه هم كاتبين انه لونغ وير اول بمعنى قترة ثباته طويلة بس انا شفت انه يدوم لمدة ٥-٦ ساعات وممكن بعض البنات يشوفون انه هل فتزة وايد زينه ومابيخلون الفونديشن على ويهم أطول من جي بس بالنسبة لي اذا قريت انه فونديشن لونغ وير أتوقع منه يكون علو الأقل ٨ ساعات في حالة جيدة.
وبعد لاحظن انه يتركز أو يبين في الخطوط التعبيرية ،هل شي يبين أكثر اذا حطين الفونذيشن باستخدام الفرشا بس اذا استخدمت البيوتي بلندر مايبين وايد لانه الاسفنجة رطبه فتسحب كل زوائد المنتج من الوجه.
الحين رايي النهائي والشخصي للفونديشن، هل أحبه أو لا؟
أحبه اذا كنت حاطته في البيت أو رايحة لعزيمة أو مناسبة في مكان مغلق ومكيف، مايثبت معاي عدل في الخارج (في الحر والرطوبة) ومابيثبت لساعات طويلة. وفي الفترة الأخيرة لاخظت انه يهيج المناطق الي فيها اكزيما ويمكن السبب انه المنتج معطر.
